Nursery welcomes Year 5
Today in 5W we read with the nursery kids. We each got a nursery child and read a book with them. The book I chose was "Chips, Peas and Chicken". We were showing them the pictures and they asked some good questions. The nursery children behaved really well and enjoyed the stories. It was a fun activity and we could give them some little tips for reading in the future.

The story time with Nursery was really successful - we were impressed by what fantastic listeners the younger children are and the older children were skilled story-tellers. We hope to do this much more often.
5W also found out about some of the things that inspire Mini Grey, a much loved author and illustrator. Based on a range of objects, they then created stories in groups and produced mini books of their own.

Well done to everyone in 5W for coming up with some great costumes and for working hard to make today a successful Book Day.

Fair play to Henry Green!
A HUGE WELL DONE TO THE GIRLS' FOOTBALL TEAM!!!
Mrs Rose was so proud this week when she received an e-mail from Essex FA, informing her that Henry Green came second out of twelve schools in the Fair Play competition. This was judged on attitude towards the game, referees and opposition teams. This is a fantastic achievement and something we should all be proud of.
Well done to all the girls and to Mrs Rose (Henry Green's PE Coordinator).
